Leave it to Abbott and Republicans to make a bigger deal about the immigration status of the victims than the crime itself. At least the sheriff has some sense and says none of that matters to the investigation. They are and were people - innocent people doing nothing wrong but having a good time. Enjoying life.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - Correct people cannot be illegal. Illegal is an adjective that modifies a noun. It is entirely possible to be in the US in violation of the law. People can be alien to the US. Either they are "legal" aliens, or they are "illegal" aliens.
I beg to differ that I "dehumanize" aliens. I understand the desire to come to the US, even with all the inherent risks of doing so illegally. I cannot in good conscience condone putting "bait in the "bear trap." That bait leads to untold death, suffering and enslavement of those who take the trek North. Those who do so are complicit in every death, in every person enslaved by cartels as drug mules or sex traffickers.
Perhaps, if Mr. Oropeza had been properly vetted and then kept out of the US, five people would not be dead. If he still has not been caught, will he kill others. I have watched several videos of the press conference, perhaps I'm seeing edited versions can you provide a link where the Sheriff asserts "there are too many people making a bigger deal out of the immigration status of the people and the shooter than the people themselves..." And I certainly hope that their immigration status has no bearing on the investigation. It should not.
My mother was a legal alien from Mexico who served as an Army nurse during WWII and the Korean war. After returning from Korea, she applied for citizenship. She had no tolerance for those who ignored the law. She left Mexico specifically because it became a place where there was little or no respect for the law.
You claim that I am the one who "dehumanize those who you don't agree with or are different." Your vitriol (i.e., "Go away troll" one of your milder insults) hurled at those who hold opposing views from your own is definitely among the top handful of regular RP contributors. Physician, heal thyself.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff I did NOT compare guns to humans. I compared irrelevant facts to irrelevant facts.
It is perfectly OK for the left to include irrelevant facts, but not the right. That is what you are really saying.
Your reponse to me is based purely on emotion. Oh, woe is me! The humans are being victimized! Who is harmed by the inclusion of immigration status? The people who are already dead? The fugitive? That inclusion, while irrelevant, doesn't actually harm anyone. So why the agony over the humans?
Unless your argument is that is harms innocent bystanders who are also here illegally. In which case, the inclusion of the AR1-15 "style" rifle harms the innocent bystanders who also LEGALLY own an AR-15.
