I enlisted in 1965 and and in my short 3 years both in training and combat I served with guys that were drafted, did not want to be in the places and do the things we had to do,but in no instances in my memory did they ever deliberately dishonor the Oath and I'm proud to have had them as Brothers we will probably never have another draft the American public would never allow it so it's up to the all volunteer Armed Services to keep us safe that means the many owes so much to the few hope they appreciate it ,although I doubt it!

Never served with any draftees however during my tour many Marines were rotated with almost no break between tours. They too, were anything but happy campers and did not appreciate being used to prop up the RVNs or to stop the spread of communism. Their main objective in many cases was staying alive and moving with hyper vigilance and caution. 1LT Sandy Annala
