Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that February 3 is the anniversary of the birth of 20th-century American author, painter and illustrator Norman Percevel Rockwell whose paintings seemed to catch everyday life in this nation in vibrant colors.
His paintings will help future cultural anthropologists to get glimpses into the life, clothing, foods. drinks, vehicles, technology, tools and equipment of the early to mid-20th century.
Rest in peace Norman Rockwell!
Thanks for mentioning me SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL

Without thinking too much about it in specific terms, I was showing the America I knew and observed to others who might not have noticed."

A Norman Rockwell picture I have hanging on the Wall in my Man Cave. A popular picture among Police Officers showing a young runaway and a Massachusetts State Trooper.

Norman Rockwell tried to enlist in the Navy during WW1, but was rejected for being 8 pounds underweight. He successfully enlisted the next day after spending the night gorging himself on bananas, liquids and doughnuts.
