Flashback: Spartans, Fighting Irish End in 10-10 Tie in 1966
A look back at the end of the 1966 match-up between Michigan State and Notre Dame.
Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on November 19, 1966 first-ranked Notre Dame and second-ranked Michigan State play to a 10-10 tie at Spartan Stadium.

Thanks for posting the video of the last minute of the game where Bubba Smith shows with that great sack of the ND quarterback, why he did so well in the NFL.
As a MSU grad (Class of '74) I have always enjoyed the reruns of this game and have really enjoyed our success on the gridiron these past ten years.
Went to the MSU / Maryland game last night and sat through wind, rain, sleet & snow to watch the Spartans win it 17 - 7 to cement them firmly in second place in their Big Ten division with one game to go against hapless Rutgers next week. We are bowl bound for the 11th out of 10 seasons.

Thanks for posting this, Joe ~
I watched this game from the kickoff to the end (in B&W of course) and was seriously disappointed in the tie and further upset by the fact that MSU could not go to the Rose Bowl again.
Bubba Smith was my hero on that team and I followed his career with the Baltimore Colts until he retired, then enjoyed his performance as Cadet Hightower in the Police Academy movies.
Sadly he passed away far too soon in 2011 at the age of 66.
