We’d been having a good monthfinally after one of the Airmen who had been having a bad few last months before rotating back stateside... Our Ass’t Facility NCO
Decided that the Airmen would not
Light any immersion heaters(used to heat water to wash mess kits) or field kitchen burner units(m-2 burner)... after the 1st month of accidents. We had a new Airman
join us and I was going prep and noticed he wasn’t keep his fingers bent under and letting knife slide down the back of them and cutting the meat or any other product. There are a few ways... I went over and commented on how he was cutting... .. that it. careless.. could I please show him how to do it? He stood back and let me demonstrate. I said we didn’t need any strange product(I.e.; fingers) in whale were prepping..
Some people get defensive... it’s their nature, don’t like being told how to do s’thing... especially by another A1C.. He took it well and continued cutting the right way(at least while I was in the AO..). I’ve included a photo demonstrating proper cutting:
