In BMT I fired sharpshooter.. they thought it a fluke. I was last guy and had a guy in my flight that had to leave.. I never moved over to close the gap. All the holes in the center two circles were mine.. I had to fire again when I got to my unit .. I got scheduled again 3 months after I got there.. I fired Sharpshooter again.. so it wasn’t a fluke.. There. Was a guy by us in our community that people loved to hate.. he was mr. Negative all around . I hadn’t had a cross word with him.. I tried being nice.. he just mumbled.. fine.. be that way ! A few weeks later he’s found dead on his back patio.. behind that is the Rouge flood basin. A shot was made from 3/4 mile away from a wooded area. I was questioned...I got wrote off Quick because it happened drill weekend and I was accounted for at the Dining facility...
The next. Year I went Active Duty AF...
I was assigned to MCGuire AFB, NJ. We had our share of racists.. on both sides of the fence at Our base and Fort Dix.. I was at a mall at Morristown, NJ .. there was a movie house had 2 movies happening... neither interested me.. So I went to the other end of the mall .. nothing but women stores... time to hit the pavement.. that evening, 3 hrs after I departed, -2 people lost their life to a sniper.. they were a couple.. a black and
a Caucasian woman .. Again I could account for my where about, I was at the dayroom in the barracks watching a movie on tv with several Airmen.. we could account for ourselves and we had a witness.. a pizza delivery driver... that brought our pizza.. it wasn’t long after I got orders to Vietnam... Go somewhere I can be appreciated maybe !
