Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. As we continue down the road to the certification of an election that many of us doubt was honest, this is an interesting topic. I will support whoever is in the White House at the end of it, but I do believe that we need to remember that we took an oath to support and defend our constitution, not our government and stand ready in case of need. May it never come to that.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Thanks Charlie for the great quotes and as a nation we should follow and live by the Constitution, not anyone individual, the government, the media, or any partocular party. Follow the Constitution and we can't go wrong, dismiss it and we're in trouble as a nation - my two cents...

“Many of raised our right hand and swore an oath to defend this nation and there are many here that were inducted/drafted for an unpopular war (Vietnam War), but we’re still warriors and patriots who believe in our country and our flag. May our patriotism be allegiance to each other and the feeling of loyalty toward out country as a result of our beliefs and knowledge and through our actions; may we all be positive patriots and have the attitude of service toward our veteran brothers and sisters; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Let us not forget what John Adams said, “Our obligations to our country never cease but with our lives.” We took an oath to defend our freedom, even if it meant making the ultimate sacrifice. I continue to believe in that purpose and oath. Proud to have served and proud to be a patriot” – COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that you have great respect for the noble values that United States attempted to live up over the centuries particularly true and justice. I hope you appreciate the words inscribed on the Statue of Liberty which line up with Biblical admonition: ‘Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these the homeless, the tempest tossed to me: I lift my lamp beside the golden door’ ‘Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him’ Proverbs 14:31 ESV] my sister in Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray that the citizens of United States of America, Canada, Mexico, Israel, UK, France, Germany, India, Australia, Japan, Korea, and New Zealand are increasingly supporting law and order, justice for all, and freedom of speech and assembly. I pray for an of personal generosity and compassion for those in dire need – recent widows, widowers, & orphans as well as the homeless. ‘Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.’ [James 1:27 ESV]
I lift the deployed service members defending the line of freedom from tyranny abroad; the police, sheriff’s deputies, federal and state agents working to keep towns, cities and streets safe for citizens of all ages from tyrannical thugs, rioters and looters in this nation and other nations to YOU LORD. I pray that the relationship between law enforcement and investigative officers and the constituents they serve is improving and will continue to improve. ‘Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.’ [Romans 13:2-4 ESV]
I pray that YOU bless each adopted son and daughter of YOURS who reads this prayer with a large measure of wisdom, discernment, compassion and goodness. Enable us to demonstrate our love for YOU through our capacity to love those YOU have placed amongst. ‘ But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. [James 1: 18-19, 21-23 ESV]
As far as those who rioting and looting and preparing to interrupt celebrations and lawful assemblies in the coming days. ‘Let destruction come upon him when he does not know it! And let the net that he hid ensnare him; let him fall into it—to his destruction! [Psalm 35:8 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Monday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Tuesday morning.

Good “Monday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the overcast skies of the Greater Boston Area with a current temperature of 31°...

“Patriot Day!” Why Not?

1) "In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." - Mark Twain

2) "My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!" - Thomas Jefferson

3) "America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand." - Harry S Truman

4) "You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children’s children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done." - Ronald Reagan

As Americans, we have been Patriots since before our Country was officially founded. Many of us today have taken the Oath of Allegiance and follow the the words of the quote below: God Bless the United States of America!

"As many have done, I served my Country and as so many others did before me, raised my right hand and made a solemn Oath to support and protect America. Today, I stand beside those who made the ultimate sacrifice throughout our History…some 41,892,128 men and women who served our Country in wars from 1775, to the present. I also include the over 1.1 million who have died in wars for Freedom and Liberty… Patriots all." — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Happy New Year Kerry. Much of what has occurred in our Constitutional Republic has been trial and error and concessions being made for the Common Good. Many of us are not completely read-in on many of the terms that we have coopted to express or disagreement with others who have divergent points of view/opinions. I am looking at 2021 Anno Domini as the beginning of a new decade and era of the history of this Constitutional Republic with the hope, as Benjamin Franklin once said, "if we can keep it."

Sgt (Join to see) - Thanks Kerry for the quotes, sometimes you have to look past records, beliefs, history, and read the words and the meaning. I get the meaning my friend. There are lot of Presidents that couldn;t stomach, but they got there for a reason and some of their quotes (not their deeds) will be remembered, even ones from my favorite President Obama (not), but he had some good quotes... Take care my friend....
