Good morning Col Burroughs. Welcome to another Monday of 2020. Pearl Harbor Day, a defining day in the lives of the Greatest Generation. So much heroism. So many willing to immediately step up to defend our country. I hope we can find that spirit when we need it; I suspect that although we are unlikely to face such a waterfall event again in our time, some of the challenges may be just as great. Do we have the resolve to come together and be victorious? I hope so.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Great quotes today about Peral Harbor and the greatest generation... My Uncle Robert served in WWII in the Philippines and eventually passed away from his bought with Malaria... Have a great day Charlie and we warriors will never forget...

“There will always be a significant impact on today’s Warriors and Warrior Leaders by studying and knowing military history. Today we remember the fallen service member’s families, generations later and those few who survived, that are still with us today. The impact of the Pearl Harbor Attack in all: The Japanese attack crippled or destroyed nearly 20 American ships and more than 300 airplanes. Dry docks and airfields were likewise destroyed. Most important, 2,403 sailors, soldiers and civilians were killed and about 1,000 people were wounded. May we keep them and their families in our memories for generations to come; may we always have a positive attitude toward our military history and heritage as a nation; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. As Warriors let us not forget our military history and those who came and sacrificed before us!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that you demonstrate honor to the fallen especially friends, family, and those who were killed in the line of duty in military service as well as firefighters, policemen and policewomen. Hopefully most of those you know who died or were killed died had a personal relationship with God through the atonement of the Christ. No doubt you are aware that at the end of this age, the dead will rise in the resurrection. 'For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 'Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.' [1 Thessalians 4:16-17 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

LORD I lift those families who have family members and friends who are listed as missing in action to YOU. YOU know the status of each one as YOU have always known all things. I pray that YOU guide the teams searching for the missing in action to the remains of the dead and that you also guide investigators to the living MIA. I pray that each MIA still alive shall be rescued.
I pray for each adopted son and daughter of YOURS who is grieving the dead and/or dying at this moment. LORD God I par that YOU enable each one to sleep tonight in peace with pleasant dreams and allow them to wake refreshed. ‘Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. [Psalm 30:5 ESV]
I pray for wisdom for the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal Appellate Court justices throughout the land. I pray that YOU guide the mind of each one and lead them to judgements that will stand the tests of time. ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.' [Proverbs 9:10-11 ESV]
I lift those in hospital and medical centers including those scheduled for surgery, chemical and/or radiation treatments in the near future to YOU. I pray that YOU guide the mind, hands and feet of each one treating, caring for, examining, treating, operating on, and performing post-treatment/operative care. ‘See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me;
I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand.
For I lift up my hand to heaven and swear, As I live forever, [Deuteronomy 32: 39-40 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Monday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Tuesday morning.

Never forget. Those who are not ready to defend themselves are very often exactly the ones who find it necessary.

I agree CSM Chuck Stafford I joined well before that, but the history is alive in my family with my oldest Uncle serving in the Philippines during WWII and eventually dying from Malaria... We will never forget...
