Leadership is about balance. Finding that sweet spot and working from there. It is however, a moving target, or a stormy sea so be prepared for many adjustments as you go. What can you do today to show leadership at work, at home or elsewhere? How can you grow your leadership skills or help someone else improve theirs?

Great quote for today's Leadership Message Charlie! I found the sweet spot several times at the Company, Battalion, and Brigade level. You grow at each level and you learn through the school of hard knocks. Leaders never get it right everytime, but they know how to adjust fire and get the target back in the cross hairs very quickly and then they sustain! Have a great "Red Friday" Lt Col Charlie Brown

Spot on!!! Each of us needs to hold true to those values. Since none of us are perfect, we need to self assess where we fall short and sometimes work to eliminate the triggers that send us off astray. Allowing your self to be triggered gives control to those who would tear you down.

One of the things I have always strived for- inspiring others. When I am gone- that is the legacy I want to leave. I don't really consider that being a leader, I see it more as a human condition that most neglect as they worry about their own niche. On leadership- I heard the best talking points during a field exercise from a British doc on the three most important aspects of leadership: Communicate, support your commander, and leadership is bloody hard.

Happy RED Friday RP.

I gotta' go, I will return though around lunchtime....
You Are A Leader......Another one i can work with....

I'm Baaack.....
"You Are A Leader" Well I am definitely not a follower....(Except when shopping with my Wife) I try to be a leader in everything I do, I always lead by example......You have to set the standard for others to achieve.
The best leaders are surrounded by great people, so this one by Carnegie I like:
"No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself, or to get all the credit for doing it. " — Andrew Carnegie
I have said it before and more than likely will again......There is opportunity everywhere, all you have to do is seek it:
"Successful leaders see the opportunities in every difficulty rather than the difficulty in every opportunity." — Reed Markham
You know what they say......"Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way....1 I choose Lead.
Have an awesome day COL Mikel J. Burroughs and the rest of RallyPoint...

***I will tag this one so folks will know that I came back.

Alan K. And the best opportunities come in the form of great big, stinky problems where a GLORIOUS solution can be made that everyone loves. That's FUN! And the best leaders, I think, kind of make it a party. When there's passion and mission, man, the worst of it can be fun.
