Thanks for letting us know SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL that "Brig. Gen. Gary M. Brito, commanding general of commanding general of JRTC and Fort Polk, weighed all seven options against hundreds of pages of public comments before suggesting a particular plan: course of action seven, which allows Fort Polk to work with animal rights groups to put the horses up for adoption, give them away, sell them, and relocate them in groups of 10 to 30 until the horses are gone."
It is kind of sad that "be no vetting process for individuals attempting to acquire the horses" because the BG selected the option to work with animal rights groups to deal with 10 to 30 horses at a time.
It is also ironic that "there is no set deadline" to relocate the horses since somebody thought the horses were in danger and that their presence endangers soldiers training at Fort Polk.

Feral Critters are always problematic, I lived on an Island in the Indian Ocean full of Feral Cats, Chickens, Donkeys and yes even 4 Horses. I don't know what the answer is I know I really wanted to kill the Chickens when they were having Sex on my Patio same for the Cats but anything that walked on Land was protected. It made for an unusual lifestyle.

Interesting story SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL . The horses should be deal with in the best way possible for all involved, horses and humans. I remember duty at Fort Benning once, I never saw so many wild turkeys and deer in one setting in my life. They had pretty much taken over the base. I was only there for two weeks so not sure how they dealt with their problem.
