Thanks for sharing significant events of March 20 Maj Marty Hogan
To me the most significant events was in 1815 as Napoleon Bonaparte returned to Paris after escaping his exile on Elba, beginning his "Hundred Days" rule.
This 100 day rule ended at the battle of Waterloo fought on Sunday, 18 June 1815, near Waterloo in present-day Belgium which was then part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands.
That singular battle is so significant that even today people still use the phrase "meet one's Waterloo" which means: "To encounter one's ultimate obstacle and to be defeated by it: “After beating dozens of challengers, the champion finally met his Waterloo.” From the Battle of Waterloo, where Napoleon Bonaparte was finally defeated."
