Thanks for sharing significant events for march 26, Maj Marty Hogan. For me the most significant event was the end of the Battle of Iwo Jima on march 26, 1945. From Feb. 19, 1945 to March 26, 1945, the U.S. Marine Corps fought the Japanese Imperial Army and captured the island of Iwo Jima. Around 18,000 Japanese and 6,000 Americans were killed in the conflict.
