I've been saying this for years, you can't dictate what the rest of the world does. The only thing you can do is prepare for the worst. NK will be a nuclear power and that's that.

Well said SPC Anthony Schepis. I agree we shouldn't be dictating what the rest of the world does but if Fatso poses any threat to us or our allies, we do need to be prepared to deal with it. I like the idea of an assassination squad or Fatso dies of a heart attack.

What do you expect from benighted folks at salon PO1 Tony Holland. They have never been astute at diplomatic or military strategic analysis or predictions, after all.
1st the North Korea issues is primarily a Chinese, Japanese, South Korean issue primarily and secondarily a Russian and USA issue.
2nd if North Korea implodes or explodes China and South Korea will bear the brunt of the impact.
3rd most likely a variant of the Stuxnet virus is most likely "available" to disrupt North Korea's command and control of its Nuclear and ICBM capability. Of course this would not be released until the situation becomes critical.
4th disruption to the command and control and leadership of North Korea will be kept secret by North Korea until they can't control the narrative.
