Get your rad-meters out one and all TSgt Joe C.. The half-life of radioactive materials varies; for instance [Plutonium] Pu-239 has a half-life of 24,100 years and Pu-241's half-life is 14.4 years.
I am not certain it would be a good ide to get close to the "location where test officers for the Manhattan Project finalized and tested the first atomic bomb."
I have been exposed to a fair amount of radiation from a MUGA Scan through numerous CT scans and X-Rays with contrast over the decades.

TSgt Joe C. I visited in the late 90's. Had a MSgt that was very knowledgeable give us a private tour. His only advice to us was to not put any of the green glass in our pockets. Not if we ever wanted to have kids.
