Belated thank you my friend and brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see) for your diligence in posting our friend, former RallyPoint member emeritus, and brother-in-Christ Colonel Mikel Burroughs VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day for Friday, May 5, 2023.

Topic: Proactive Day
To be honest I prefer to be proactive, thoughtful, purposeful and decisive
1. Mature leaders tend to be proactive, thoughtful, and decisively acting on the basis of sound principles, foundational values and good understanding of capabilities and limitations of those we lead.
2. My British expatriate parents demonstrated servant leadership for me and my younger sisters at home and at work. They inculcated many noble values into my character and my sisters - respect for each person, dedication to serving and encouraging others.
3. As a military leader, I consistently volunteered to lead in dangerous situations. I resolved to lead by example proactively.
4. I tend to proactive and thoughtful. By God's grace I am becoming a better listener and more compassionate.

Quotes
1. Eli Landa 'Being proactive is a pillar of spiritual growth and meaningful development.'
2. Ken Poirot 'Be proactive not reactive, for an apparently insignificant issue ignored today can spawn tomorrow's catastrophe.'
3. Blind Willie Johnson 'It's nobody's fault but mine. Nobody's fault but mine. If I don't read it, my soul will be lost. I have a Bible in my home. I have a Bible in my home. If I don't read it, my soul will be lost.'
4. Stephen P Ford, August 31, 2022 "The challenges of this season calls for leaders of family, friends, through neighborhood to state and national level to have discernment and wisdom to anticipate, be proactive, and be willing to make changes with minimal notice."
5. Thomas Carlyle ' The person without a purpose is like a ship without a rudder.'
6. Elvis Costello 'My Aim is True"

Scriptures
a. Philippians 4:6-8 ESV ‘do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
b. Hebrews 9:14-15 ESV 'how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Therefore, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.'
c. Psalm 34:15-18 ESV ‘The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are inclined to their cry. But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to wipe out all memory of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.’
d. Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV ‘Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
e. 1 Peter 5:6-8 ESV ‘Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.’
f. Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV 'Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.'
g. Philippians 3:20-21 ESV ‘But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.'
h. Psalm 23:1-6 ESV '‘The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name. ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.’

No doubt you are a proactive leader who demonstrates respect to all and is wise enough to know what is worth fighting for. Your ability to quickly size up situations and circumstances and willingness to choose the right time and methods to respond is inspirational. I expect those you lead including family, co-workers, and others appreciate your dedication to stand up and defend them publicly. I hope your and my demonstration of courage of convictions, and personal integrity is worthy of emulation. ‘Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. [Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV] my brother-in-Christ

I expect you are decisive and proactive and that do your best to boost morale for those you lead including your family, friends and others you hold yourself responsible for. No doubt that you do your best eliminate obstacles, overcome challenges, and deliver mission success. I expect that your work ethic is well-grounded and hope that your generosity in donating your time, talents and resources has improved as you mature in the faith. I hope you recognize that it is by God’s grace alone that you and I have skills, talents and knowledge. No doubt you understand that each person is equal in value in the LORD’s perfect view of humanity. Hopefully your humility and compassion are much deeper than skin deep. ‘Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.’ [1 Peter 5:6-8 ESV], my brother-in-Christ

I pray for discernment, clarity of purpose, and requisite skills for each deployed service member, border patrol agents and others focused on security at home and abroad. I pray for the families and loved ones of each. Open lines of communication between family members and their deployed loves ones, guide parents to help their children understand the importance of written letters, and guide them to share pictures, hopes and dreams. I pray for firm foundations each married deployed person’s marriage. I pray for an increase in trust and trustworthy behavior. ‘Therefore, a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.’ [Ephesians 5:31-33 ESV]

I lift service members and veterans with bad memories including nightmares of being deployed to sandy areas of the world including southwest Asia and swamps and jungles including southeast Asia. LORD, I pray that YOU deliver those with repetitive nightmares and enable them each to sleep peacefully. ‘Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble. If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.’ [Proverbs 3:23-24 ESV]

I pray that you slept well on Friday night as well as each one you love, and that you each woke up refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good R.E.D. Friday afternoon, Maj Robert Thornton!!! I really like your primary/1st Meme, but have a problem with the verbiage in #2 & #3... The last one seems in good, but I question the use of "SIN" by its author... Perhaps I'm missing something here, Robert...
