I've got over 3000 hours of flight time and the only 2 times I've been scared while flying was in helicopters.......that includes being shot at and hit!

My Air Force father always told me "If the wings are moving faster than the fuselage, it's a Helicopter and inherently dangerous."

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen- I spent a lot of time in choppers, usually ones with no doors or seats (except for the Chinooks). People always asked me if choppers crashed frequently and why. Yes, they crash on a fairly regular basis. Why? Because they are flown by some 21 year old flying Nap of the Earth at night wearing night vision googles. Night vision in the 80's sucked, I couldn't have driven a jeep wearing them.
