Just focus on what is most important. Obedience to God.

As part of my nightly devotions time, I am reading through the Bible, cover-to-cover. A working knowledge of the Old Testament is very beneficial in understanding the New Testament, particularly the Gospels, because the 1st century Jews followed the Mosaic Law in everything they did, and Jesus fully kept the Law.

If y9ou are looking for a starting place, I always steer people toward the Gospel of John and then 1,2, &3 John. The message of God's love is so foundational get that in your spirit first.. Then go back and start in Matthew. Psalms are good to read regularly and you can read proverbs daily for the rest of your life.
