If anyone has any love of music, this is a great documentary to see. It is long but well worth the time. The legendary owner and record producer of Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Rick Hall, died this month. He took a small recording studio and made it one of the most significant recording studios in the world. Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers as Lynyrd Skynyrd penned. Anybody who was anybody recorded there. Percy Sledge made them very famous, but the list of artists is innumerable. Aretha Franklin, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, George Strait, Alabama, Wilson Pickett, Greg Allman, and so many other Country, Pop, Blues, and R&B greats made their mark there.

A Swedish documentary from 1970 that was filmed at the legendary Fame studio in Muscle Shoals, AL.Featuring amazing footage of Willie Hightower in the studio...
Thanks for sharing SGT (Join to see) the sad news that the legendary owner and record producer of Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Rick Hall, died this month.
Muscle Shoals, Alabama seems like an unlikely mecca for Country, Pop, Blues, and R&B greats to make their mark but this town on the banks of the Tennessee River in North Alabama.
Being roughly 2 hours south of Nashville indicates it is close enough to that musical oasis but far enough away to break free from adoring fans, etc.
