Good morning Col Burroughs. Interesting topic. Accessibility. Just because something is available doesn't mean it is accessible. We've seen that in action during this quarantine. We have school virtually for all children and yet, we have many who don't attend. Why? It isn't accessible for them. They lack the skills or the equipment or the internet access...the list goes on and on. If we are serious about accessibility we have to work harder to truly make it so.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Thanks for different perspective on accessibility as it relates to virtual access for our children and their schooling during this pamdemic Charlie. Thanks for the additional quotes today and please check out my final thoughts...

"It is so important for leaders to allow accessibility of their teams and organizations thought "Open Door" polices, as well as those leaders going out and providing accessibility through passive and active questioning and listening to individual's concerns. This is a great way to gain access to valuable feedback on the culture and climate of the organization. May you always allow accessibility and encourage access to your knowledge and vision for any organization; may you project a positive attitude when allowing access and accessibility; may you keep your personal readiness and health at it very best; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Accessibility and transparency are critical to information flow and feedback up and down and throughout any organization or team." — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that you are either grateful for the accessibility you have or take for granted accessibility. The young and healthy may well have taken accessibility for granted before SARS-CoV-2 restrictions attempted to crimp their activities. Those of who are significantly disabled have gone through the grieving stages or may well be going through them. For those who are proud of their access to powerful politicians or business people ‘Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud. [Proverbs 16:18-19] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I lift the disabled including those suffering from mental injuries/disease including PTSD and TBI as well as the grieving widows SPC Diana D. and widowers to YOU LORD. Thank you for allowing us to grieve our losses. I pray that we each grieve sufficiently for our deceased family members and friends. [You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. [John 16:20b-21 ESV]
I pray for the individuals on the front lines at the medical triage stations, emergency rooms, and EMT personnel. I pray that the emergency room entrances will be never blocked again by radical protesters. I pray that YOU unleash all that is required to bring terror to any who would try to interfere with medical aide.
I lift the police and federal agents in Portland, Seattle, Kenosha and other areas of significant rioting and looting. I pray that YOU shine light on the dark plans of any person planning to ambush police, firefighters, sheriff’s deputies or agents as well as any who indent to commit suicide by attacking/threatening armed policemen and agents. I pray that YOU protect police, firefighters, sheriff’s deputies and Federal agents. I pray that not one of these will be killed with the exception of those who call YOU LORD.
I pray that each family with school children including college age children and parents has sufficient access to education. I pray for wisdom for the families and educators at private, public, trade schools, and college/universities. I pray that homeschoolers are becoming more widely accepted and that school children in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Europe, India, and Australia are respected especially in schools that are open for onsite education. ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew 18:1-4 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Thursday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Friday morning.

Good “Thursday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader” from the crystal clear deep blue skies of the Greater Boston Area! I am working another IT shift so will be on and off most of the day, but mostly off... I will contribute where I can based on time and circumstances... I am "accessible" though, by email or RP messaging... LOL!

“Accessibility Day!” Why Not?

1) "I think transitions are never that noticeable, but they are always on their way. It has to do with distance and accessibility. People call it mellowing, but I think it's how available you are toward other people, or how much you distance yourself." - Paul Newman

2) "Accessible design is good design - it benefits people who don't have disabilities as well as people who do. Accessibility is all about removing barriers and providing the benefits of technology for everyone." - Steve Ballmer

3) "Sometimes you need to stay in touch but be out of reach." - Jim Rohn

4) "We all have choices that we are empowered to make on a daily basis, and while those choices can be limited by affordability and accessibility, we still have the opportunity to make our best choice. That best choice usually requires more effort and more thought, but, undeniably, the results are worth it." - Adam Rodriguez

And a History Lesson for all:
5) "The division into Whig and Tory is founded in the nature of men; the weakly and nerveless, the rich and the corrupt, seeing more safety and accessibility in a strong executive; the healthy, firm, and virtuous, feeling confidence in their physical and moral resources, and willing to part with only so much power as is necessary for their good government; and, therefore, to retain the rest in the hands of the many, the division will substantially be into Whig and Tory." - Thomas Jefferson

Everyone has read good quotes this morning, but how does that affect those that lead the way? Read on Brothers and Sisters...

“Leader accessibility can be a two-way process. Seeking out information and feedback from the team and making yourself accessible to the team to listen to their concerns.”— COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I agree with the quote. I feel that my best access to the Great Spirit is when I'm in meditation. I have no doubt that God already knows what I think before I do.
