Political statements aren't to be made in uniform.

If you want to make a statement, do so. But don't be a fucking coward and hide your face. Seriously.

I don't care what your views are. I really don't. You're entitled to Free Speech. You're allowed to Protest. But be grown up enough to live with the consequences of your actions.

You know that you're not allowed to make political statements in uniform, or you wouldn't hide your face. Therefore you're a goddamn coward, and I don't want you wearing my uniform.

I Believe The Word "He" Is Also A Generic Term For "Any Group Of People, Regardless Of Sex.,." Example: In Spanish A Group Of Ones Children Are Called "Los Hijo's", And A Boy Is An "Hijo" With The "o'"Making The Determination And A Girl Is An "Hija" Where The "a" Indicates The Feminine Aspect... But Never Refer To Anyone As A "PENDEJO"! ~ Do Ya Understand Gringo? LOL (:-)>

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney Not going to argue with your "beliefs". In my life experience a "he" is a man as "she" is a woman and there are those who want to be "they". If I can't tell what a human is identifying as, then I look for an element that I can use as an identifier that does not "trigger" some snowflake. This, "Army member". That was identifiable - assuming the person was for real and didn't buy the uniform from an Army Surplus store. I stand by my short comment that pointed out the assumed gender. Men are not always to blame - there are other genders in the Army who could be to blame.

It's Not My Belief, It Comes From 80 Years Of Experience And Conversations With Others Throughout Various Parts Of The World. ... USA ~ Living In Panama ~ Spending Time Visiting Japan And Costa Rica, Stationed In South Korea ~ And Living In About 8 Of The United States... I'm Not "Assuming" Any Gender, I'm Stating A Term Which Is Use When Discussing A Group Of People, Which Is Commonly Done In Other Parts Of The World.
As I Stated; In Spanish ~When Literally Translated, "Mis Hijos" Mean "My Sons", But Use As "My Children" ~ Male And Female Combined.... Chuleta Pendejo, Que Va? Que Es Lo Que Pasa Contigo? M I E R D A !

If this was really a Soldier, I say if you don't want to fight then get out- I'm guessing this person joined for the college money. I see it far to often, want military to fund their college without any obligation of self

The subject post was made 9 years ago, a year after Russia invaded and annexed Crimea. Since then Russia's invasion of Eastern and Northern eastern Ukraine in 2022 escalated the conflict, so the subject post hasn't aged well. Hopefully, the US and our NATO allies are not about to make the same don't mistakes our great-grandparents and grandparents made in Europe 9 decades ago.

The main reason I joined at 17 was for the college money and other benefits. Yet, for some strange reason I stayed 21 years and deployed twice. I found a purpose after I joined. I don't think it matters too much why they joined, it's what they accomplish while they're in that matters.

I went into the army under he montgomery bill for college, but still went to war in Kuwait, because a tyrant was killing innocent people. I hate tyrants. My job was to rescue people in distress. Hotel 8. That person hiding his face is a coward, that was my first reaction.

Soldiers like this are a disgrace to the uniform. It is not about what you want. I personally don't want to do a lot of things. I should make a signing I don't want to go to another Safety brief. But you can't Army on your terms. You are not an individual, you are a soldier. I am sure he is a product of the "Army of One" motto.

Given how effectively the Syrian Electronic Army faked a similar campaign to keep America out of the Syrian conflict. I don't think it should be taken seriously unless these "soldiers" show their faces.

CPT Richard Fematt - you are sounding like a stooge for putin. the ukraines are recieving arms and equipment and the funds are used to replace them. putin is attacking women and children and civilian targets. he is kidnapping children and taking them to russia. and the ukraines are putting themseles in the breach to save their country and perhaps keeping you and our troops from to be involved as NATO countries are attacked. stand up for democracy.

Things are not always what they seem to be at first glance. When I’m seemingly perplexed about such issues as conflict of oath, I just ask myself, How does this help/empower Putin and other wannabe dictators? “Divide and conquer” is a worthy strategy in any conflict. Remember, Putin is an old KGB agent and now he is in your back pocket, if that is where you keep your phone and social media. These are difficult and trying times when our politicians mistakenly think those huge “political donations are political donations” from Russian Oligarchs. They are not donations, they are loans that can never be paid off completely. It is a form of Russian Compromise. It is a simple way to understand the baffling Maga movement and the seemingly bazaar motivations of some of our politicians. Some are not struggling with their oath to the constitution, they are totally outside their oath of office in their pursuit of personal power or worse yet, the Compromise they find themselves in. If you are wondering why our country seems so divided just ask yourself the question, How does this help/empower Putin and other wannabe dictators?

Back in the late 60’s when my fellow submariners and I were playing cat and mouse with Russian subs in the North Atlantic, life was much simpler. No cell phones, no social media, no divided country. During the Cold War we knew who the enemy was and what we had to do. It is a time to close ranks and embrace our constitution and be wary of anything or anybody that is attempting to divide us. Oh and just a reminder, our oath doesn’t have an expiration date, it is an oath to live by, “that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign AND domestic, that I will bear TRUE faith and allegiance to the same…”

IF and I say IF this is an actual soldier, they need to take the uniform off and go find a safe place. It isn't about you deciding where you will fight and where you will die...PERIOD. It isn't about fighting Russian or being in the Ukraine...it is about you standing next to the Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, or Marine and taking care of them and them taking care of you and the trust that you have in each other. His oath of enlistment nowhere states that he can pick and choose with he fights with or where he fights, just that he will obey the orders of those appointed over him. If he can't do that then go cook fries at McDonalds or something but get the heck out of the Army. His willingness to not fight when and where he is told is dangerous and will get his unit members killed when he runs like a roach with the lights on. Get a big ol glass of shut the heck up and get back in line.

For starters, he broke regulations for posting a political statement while in uniform. Other than that, he is not that bright, anyway, buying into the media hype as it were. He willingly signed his name. He volunteered. Suck it up and ruck it up. Go where you are told to go when you are told to go. Some times we may not like the job we have to do, but the job still has to get done. For his own sake and sanity, I do hope he ETS'd.

Not a new sentiment... Many Soldiers join, and fail to accept/realize what their oath says. When we were invading Panama, I remember a SSG who lost it, because "they did not join the Army to go to war... they joined for the benefits..." The benefits come with the territory of doing what you are told to do, when and where directed; we don't get a vote. Hopefully that troop was dealt with....

As long as Uncle Sam sign your check and you wear the uniform you go where Uncle Sam sends you. Get out, if you can't do the job. I would rather fight a war on foreign soil than on American soil!!
