President Biden has claimed that 'Climate change aka Global Warming or AKA Climate Emergency' is the biggest existential threat. The earth is warming anyways, why bother? We have gone through warming periods and ice ages for billions of years.
Climate Change? Never mind that our artillery inventory is running extremely low.
Climate Change? Never mind that China has built four aircraft carriers in the last 5 Years with a specific intent to defend or screen US Navy forces from getting close to Taiwan because those baby flat tops will carry anti-ship missiles as well as nuclear weapons.
I suggest that Congress and the foolish President come forth with a plan to do an Operation Warp Speed for Ordnance of all kinds as well as doubling or tripling our capacity in restocking our heavy artillery and our Navy ordnance. This also includes Tank Production and Anti-tank weapons as well.
Before the War Began in Ukraine or continued after February of 2023, Taiwan had ordered 108 Abrams main battle tanks. We only have one major tank Factory in Ohio with 800 workers. Making a dozen tanks a month is not going to help matters when you have Taiwan competing with Poland and other NATO countries that also want the M1A2 tanks. Taiwan just got 2 Abrams tanks in June. This will take a decade with the slow production and high demand of MBTs.
President Biden and Janet Yellen are kind of like Mr. Rogers and Mr. Magoo of diplomats. They're too nice and too naive and try to kiss ass to China when the Chinese Premiere is telling his People's Liberation Army Navy to get ready for the invasion of Taiwan. Janet Yellen bowed to the Vice-President of China. We bow to nobody! The Chinese blow us off and we kiss their asses. This shows signs of weakness which is the SOP for the Biden Administration.

They were not perfect and yet President Biden and his missing Vice-President Harris were all given the vaccinations before they took office. They claim they didn't have a plan when they did.
That being said, the US should go on a war footing we should triple our capacity and make 155mm and other artillery shells. We should increase our production of anti-ship missiles, torpedoes and Javelin missile systems that Taiwan has also ordered and has to wait a year or more to get.
Looking at history, in 2018, a four-star Admiral going for his Ambassadorship (Harry Harris) warned about Taiwan being threatened by China in the South China Sea.

The US Navy said that they would only be able to last about one week fighting a war with China because torpedo, missile and artillery supplies would be depleted after about a week.

Yes. A severe lack of ordinance places us at far greater risk of encouraging very real adversaries to wage war on us now than some ethereal “climate change” threat that has been perpetually threatening to end us within the “next dozen years” for about the last 40 years. And, even if you believe in anthropogenic global warming grift – spending the $360 billion to immediately wage war on China, Russia, at al would do more to “save the planet” in the long run then all the EV Charging Stations in the world.
The United States Department of Defense's (DoD) mission is “to provide the military forces needed to deter war (i.e. armed conflict) and ensure our nation's security.” The requirement to ensure our nation's security implies the potential requirement to prevail in an armed conflict, should we fail at deterrence. Our READINESS to prevail in armed conflict is the critical component to achieve this mission. If we are not READY to prevail, then we will neither deter war nor ensure our nation’s security.
Having enough munitions to sustain us in war serves as a vital component to readiness. Without a reserve of fuel or ammunition sufficient to deploy and fight, all our service members and all their systems cannot prevail. Ramping up production of these takes time and grants potential adversaries the advantage strategically and operationally. And it is PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE that we have depleted stores of fuel and ammunition, we encourage adversaries with aggressive intentions (e.g. North Korea’s desire to reunify the Peninsula and China’s desire to seize Taiwan) to act while we stand ill-prepared.
The Law of Economy (coined by Robert Leonhard, Principles of War for the Information Age) states that:
“[M]an is weak and lacks the resources sufficient to serve his goals in conflict. Further, the supreme danger of armed conflict cause it to be an exceedingly wasteful enterprise. Therefore, to prevail in conflict, one must economize as much as possible.”
Therefore, economy demands DoD must prioritize readiness to deter or meet real threats that fit within its mission set and spend every spare dime to replenish our munitions stocks as soon as production can ramp up to meet the demand.
The Department of Defense exists as a Constitutional Mandate – an enumerated responsibility stipulated by the Preamble; Article I, Section 8, Clauses 1, 4, 10-18; and Article II, Section 2, Clause 2. Ergo, the Law of Economy -- pursuant to the top tier requirement to “provide for the common defence [sic]” -- extends to the President and to Congress.
As such, the President and both houses of Congress must seriously reevaluate the commitment of $360 billion to “Climate Change” initiatives under the Inflation Reduction Act if they are committed to fulfilling their Oaths of Office. The provision of $360 billion amounts to roughly 43% of our National Defense budget at a time when our deficit spending and our national debt are pushing our currency to the brink of hyperinflation. In a nutshell, spending a single penny of national treasure on “Climate Change” is a wasteful violation of the US Constitution (Article I, Section 8 and Amendment X). Why?
First, even if one stipulated that “Climate Change” (i.e. anthropogenic global warming cause by CO2 emissions) were a real and existential threat, any notion that the Federal-level government should spend our money on attempting to control the weather lies outside the scope of their enumerated powers under Article I, Section 8. None of the clauses related to the common defense or general welfare grant Congress the power, not even the requirement to “promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts” (Art I, Sec. 8, Clause 8).
Second, no compelling evidence exists that proves a hypothesis that humankind’s 0.01% contribution to the Earth Total Atmospheric Volume of a trace organic gas that plants need to survive has any real impact on the Global Mean Temperature. No correlation exists between our observed CO2 emissions and changes in observed temperatures, aside from those that indicate that CO2 emissions are a LAGGING indicator rather and a leading, causal indicator. However, there is a very direct correlation between observed solar flare activity (which we cannot control) and observed temperature fluctuations. Moreover, tectonic plate shifting (another phenomenon over which we have no control) acts as a global thermostat to regulate our planet’s temperature when the sun gets too hot or too cold.
Third, not only do we lack compelling evidence, not a single one of the dire, doomsday predictions made over the past 30 to 40 years have come to pass if we didn’t mend our ways:
- The snow caps on Mount Kilimanjaro would disappear.
- The Polar Ice Caps would be gone by 2013
- Island nations would go the way of the Lost City of Atlantis
Even if you wanted to point to cherry-picked evidence of an Eco-pocalypse, we’ve already reached the “Point of No Return” back in 2016, according to the noted climatologist, Al Gore. So, what difference would it make at this point?
Fourth, even if we sacrificed the entire blood and treasure of the United States to achieve zero-net carbon emissions by 2030, we only account for 14% of all CO2 emissions. China emits 29%, India 7%, Russia, 4% -- a total of 40% of all CO2. How would our commitment to economic suicide convince China or Russia – or anyone else – to follow us over the cliff?
How else could we compel China, India, or Russia to help “save the planet” -- short of armed conflict? In which case, reallocating the $360 Billion to the Defense Department would do more to stop climate change then spending it on green boondoggles.
The United States Department of Defense's (DoD) mission is “to provide the military forces needed to deter war (i.e. armed conflict) and ensure our nation's security.” The requirement to ensure our nation's security implies the potential requirement to prevail in an armed conflict, should we fail at deterrence. Our READINESS to prevail in armed conflict is the critical component to achieve this mission. If we are not READY to prevail, then we will neither deter war nor ensure our nation’s security.
Having enough munitions to sustain us in war serves as a vital component to readiness.
