WE LOST ANOTHER BROTHER YESTERDAY - WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH?

TAKE A MINUTE TO READ! THIS A CALL FOR HELP!

There have been many articles and discussions written about Suicide and the loss of our brothers and sisters here on RallyPoint, so I'll ask my cohorts (Admins) on RP not to combined to remove this discussion for the sake of another lost veteran to suicide! I can't and won't provide you with the name for the sake of the veteran's family, but that shouldn't make a difference. He is gone and we suffer as a group and as an organization of veterans, no matter why or what the reasons were. May his loss not go in vain!

WE CAN CHANGE THAT RP MEMBERS.

I'm asking you to respond to this discussion by tagging (20) of your connections (Different and New) and then ask them to request they do the same.

I want to reach as many veterans on RP as possible that have PTSD, TBI, or they are severely disabled and get them help though this program.

Attention! Calling on Active Duty Soldiers & Families; Veterans & Families Suffering from PTSD, TBI, or severe disabilities to Participate in an Excellent Virtual Program in 3D Interactive Mode!

How to get involved or get help

We need to roll out our programs as soon as possible to help prevent more suicides. We need the following to participate in our Pilot Program:

1. Active Duty families that will participate in our Residential Community Virtual environment. Here, the Active Duty Spouse can meet with his/her family at predetermined times to spend consistent, quality time with their families. Utilizing virtual media computers, they can help their children with homework, take them to an amusement park on go on rides, celebrate birthdays and holidays with family and friends, all without physically moving. We feel very strongly that consistent family interaction in an immersive, interactive virtual environment will decrease PTSD and help with TBI. it is confidential and on your own time. You can come in anonymously!

2. Veterans with PTSD, TBI, or severe disabilities to have access to supportive Community services to demonstrate how the services work and the associated benefits.

3. Military spouses or Caregivers that are needed for volunteer work to start which will result in subcontractor paid work within a few months. We mainly need a lot of administrative help, some IT, a Videographer, and a Web designer.

Please let me know if you'd like to see a live demo to to experience what we know and have proven is a solution to decrease Veteran PTSD and TBI suicides, provide training and remote work for paralyzed veterans, and host a Community of services available 24/7 for support and encouragement for Active Duty, Veterans and their Families.

No veteran or service member will ever feel alone or isolated again.

If you are interested in the above and would like to attend a demonstration, we are conducting them on Thursday nights at (1900 Hours) 7:00 PM EST.

When I first read your post my thoughts went immediately to somebody who was on RallyPoint with us COL Mikel J. Burroughs. While I am saddened for the loss of another veteran to suicide I am grateful that in this case it does not seem to be somebody I know - I know far too many who have committed suicide. PO3 Steven Sherrill thanks for the heads up.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs you have always been on top of this issue. The community is better for having people like you working to cut this number to zero.

So what can we do as a group? We are a large group of people with tons of resources at our disposal. Can we brainstorm something?

SGT William Howell Please continue to refer veterans that have issues to our program:

I'm on a Mission to help Veterans!

1. We are looking for veterans or active duty service members with PTSD or TBI that want to join the "confidential" Pilot Program, along with their family members at no charge. This program is not tied to the VA.

2. In addition, I would like to know if you would be interested in participating (Confidentially) or volunteering to help veterans with PTSD, TBI, and Disabled Veterans through an online Virtual Pilot Program. If there is some interest to help please contact me at the email listed below.

If you are interested in either of the above and would like to attend a demonstration, we are conducting them on Thursday nights at 7:00 PM EST. Please go to this link:

COL Mikel J. Burroughs Yes Sir. This is exactly what I am talking about. It could be very beneficial to have this as a banner here on RP. Someplace that everybody can see it. I am on here everyday and was not aware that we were starting this program.

SGT William Howell That is a great idea, but unfortunately we don't have the funding yet to to afford that, so I keep creating posts. We do have a Group Page: https://www.rallypoint.com/organizations/sponsor-a-vet-life-virtual-world-solutions-d-b-a-sponsor-a-vet-life

This is just a symptom of a bigger, and more dangerous, cultural problem.

We should all do more for our brothers and sisters in...and out...of uniform. Let me know what I can do to help. Not seeing the link you referenced above.

Foreign policy and military actions continue to have a significant impact on those who serve

Boots? in Syria:

There comes a time when I have to draw out the BS card to strongly suggest that something is and continues to be a serious problem and national mindset.

This is a way of government policy which has existed for many decades, different administrations and partisan politics.

PTSD has always been around. Whether it's called Battle Fatigue, Shell Shock or whatever it is a part of serving in war time.
My wife's uncle was a belly gunner in WW2 and returned with severe mental issues. With VA care he was able to live a fairly normal life and even had a job with the Post Office. He never married.
I think there may have been a lot more support back then because there were so many veterans. Almost 12 million people served during that war and a few million more during the Korean actions, Today veterans don't even make up 1% of the population. Every election there are fewer veterans in Congress and when did we have a veteran as president last who actually served? (I don't count GW Bush because it was used as a get out of trouble card.) In spite of the sympathy shown by the civilians there is a certain detachment from us. There is also contempt. Too many think military service is beneath their dignity. Others think we are a bunch of ineducable morons. I heard this from the mouth of my own son. Northerners like to blame the Conservative politics of those of us in the South and West. ROTC is practically dead in the Northeast.
I don't buy all the sympathy and meal buying. I detest being thanked for my service. It all seems contrived and fake. For some it is guilt.
I'm not too impressed with VA. I don't use it because I've always had health insurance and still do now with Medicare and Medigap policies. Let the VA take care of those who have a real need.
Are our present day warriors being as well cared for as were our WW2 veterans? It doesn't seem so.
