Here is the way it works. When you make Major, they cut out your tongue so you can't talk. When you make Lt Col they give you a lobotomy so you can't think. When you make Colonel they reattach your tongue and keep the lobotomy in check. Same for the top three enlisted ranks.

I don't understand it sometimes...people just get stupid and think they are untouchable at the higher ranks. We put them on those pedestals and act like they are somebody instead of a human being that is fortunate enough to get promoted...and they buy it...and some of them abuse it. I am just glad to hear that we are finally holding them accountable.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - We in all the services put senior officers on a pedestal like they are hollywood rock stars. I mean with protocol crap is gone mad. Ilook at an O-6 and wonder why they are on such a pedestal. I mean they are still a field grade officer...period and were lucky enough to have the right endorsement at the right time at the right board. There is such a divide between O-5 and O-6 where O-5's are treated like Lt's. General officers, I can kind of understand but we treat O-6's like kings and it goes to a lot of there heads.

SFC Shirley Whitfield - Absolutely...individually most don't but the corporate structure of the military does. Drove me crazy why we had to put fruit baskets, cookies, special drinks etc inthe VOQ room or in the briefing room when they arrived with door holders etc. Just insane in my book.
