I wish I had a game plan. I’m 40 years old a police officer and I still wish I had a game plan.

Sgt Trevor Barrett - Thanks! Life is great I can't complain. Just wish I was doing something different with my life. Not sure what that is though.

SFC Harry H. - Self reflection and learning about yourself is one of the hardest things you can do. It's also very crucial if you want to figure out what makes you tick. Once you figure out what your passionate about then you can starting learning more about it and start to create more of a plan. It's also the key to doing meaningful (to you) work.

Sgt Trevor Barrett - Very True, I thought I had that figured out once. When I became a police officer. I wanted to be respected, admired, there to bring a smile, there for someone who needed me most on their worst day. Today, very little respect or admire any type of LE. It's hard to bring a smile when you're looked at as the bad guy and any more someones worst day is becoming yours as well. There has been 44 officers killed in the LOD in the past 45 weeks. That's about 1 a week.

I use to be a people person, loved to see a smile on their faces and if there wasn't, I would make one. Not sure what changed, life, my loss of faith and religion, the job, the military, the people, me, politics, age, generations? IDK, but I'm 40 yo and hope to one day be able to see that again. So what's my plan? I have no clue.

SFC Harry H. - I want you to know that I respect and admire you sir. Your job isn't an easy one especially this day and age. I wish that I had some answers for you or could give you a solid piece of advice. Unfortunately, I don't have the answers and am not qualified to give you the type of advice that you could probably benefit from.

However, it sounds to me just from reading your last comment that you are already pretty passionate about something! And with the experience that you have you are more then qualified to add value in that area. No need to recreate the wheel just look at how other amazing people such as yourself are impacting there local communities and then follow there lead. Below I have added some links that I hope will inspire you!
