Bitter never-ending cold is the phrase that comes to mind when I see or hear the Battle of Chosin Reservoir my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell

I know it was often referred to as the forgotten war but did they ever teach History at Her school ? I had even found one student that when Vietnam was mentioned asked if that was something in World War II ? it seems in many places their education is badly lacking.

PO3 Craig Phillips - That is true but Myself whatever terminology they use in My opinion those were both wars and I've made My own choice to refer to them that way. I am and active Member and past 6 term Commander of American Legion Post 208, MIllis, MA and in public speaking always referred to them as a war. In our Legion Post We have a close knit group of Veterans, from WWII, Korean, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf war era. I remain active in the post as 1st Vice Commander, Member of the executive Board and Post Service Officer. I do agree RP is a good place to come and our fellow Veterans do understand. I

It’s amazing that the cold didn’t kill more troops. I can’t imagine fighting in such an environment.

Thanks for sharing his story

When I went to Vietnam one thing I was thankful for at least it was a warm climate, I always dreaded winding up in a place like Korea where You not only had to fight a war but freeze while You were doing that. Think of that alternative made Me at least appreciate the fact my wartime experience was at least in a warmer climate.
