Here's the problem with the logic from the author.

- We don't want to overwhelm the healthcare system
- We implement social distancing policies to slow the spread
- The healthcare system is not overwhelmed
- Conclusion: We didn't need to enact social distancing

It happens whenever we take action to prevent something. If it is successful it raises the question of if it was needed because the results of "it was never needed" and "the preventive measures worked" look the same.
