Good Friday morning Col Burroughs and Posse. Remember everyone deployed!
Fate is something that has an impact on us. However, like this quote, I do believe that how we decide to go forward, what actions we take, influence the outcome. Often I deal with people who say, I have no choice. But of course you do, you always have choices, even if that choice is your attitude about the situation.

I expect you have sufficient endurance, resilience, and stamina to survive though this winter into the spring and summer with grace. I hope those who depend on you and I are thriving under our leadership as we endure optimistically with hope in the LORD. ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.’ [Romans 15:13 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I hope and pray that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters is wise enough to realize that YOU are in control of every detail of our lives dear LORD. Too many fools hope in as well as fear luck and fate to their demise. Thankfully each of YOUR own are aware that faith in YOU is the surest assurance in life and creation. ‘Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.’ [Hebrews 11:1-3 ESV]
I lift each of us who lean on YOU during times of struggle, testing, trial and grief to YOU LORD. I am thankful that YOU dwell with the soul of each of us and YOU are the ever-present Helper, Comforter, Protector, Provider and source of all of our needs. I pray that each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters are able to place our full trust in YOU and lean on YOU. ‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.’ [Proverbs 3:5-8 ESV]
I pray for good treatment and compassionate care for each disabled veteran, injured servicemen and servicewomen, those afflicted with substance abuse, those suffering from PTSD/TBI and those who depend on them and those who love them. I pray that the VAMC medical treatment facilities, the military service medical treatment facilities and the Indian health care medical facilities are sufficiently staffed and equipped to care for the patients. LORD YOU know the needs of all. I pray that YOU motivate those in authority to adequately care for the disabled, the diseased and the injured. I pray that YOU comfort each person, especially children, whose parent is undergoing treatment. 'Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.’ [ 1 Peter 5: 6-7 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members slept well Friday night and awoke refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good “R.E.D. Friday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the somewhat warming temps of SW Florida... Indeed, we should all “Remember Everyone Deployed” until they return home once again.

It is: “Fate Day!” What is determining your fate my Brothers and Sisters?

"Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart.” ― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

“I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value.” ― Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha

“Fate is never fair. You are caught in a current much stronger than you are; struggle against it and you'll drown not just yourself but those who try to save you. Swim with it. and you'll survive” ― Cassandra Clare, City of Ashes

“Every person has the power to change their fate if they are brave enough to fight for what they desire more than anything.” ― Stephanie Garber, Caraval

“Sometimes the slightest things change the directions of our lives, the merest breath of a circumstance, a random moment that connects like a meteorite striking the earth. Lives have swiveled and changed direction on the strength of a chance remark.” ― Bryce Courtenay

There are so many quotes on the subject of fate, but how does fate play a role for leaders? Read on...

“Success or failure for leaders is not the result of chance or fate. It comes down to how leaders build their teams, their resilience, their optimism, and their ability to survive and thrive during the most stressful times!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Be the leader who leads from the front and by example. Be the leader who accepts all kinds and challenges his or herself. Be the difference between you and that selfish compadre. Be All You Can Be.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs, fate whispered "You don't belong in my Army" and I replied, "This is my Army too and so, I do belong." What transpired thereafter was beyond even my own imagination.

It seems to me that Date, for good or ill, is a result of decisions made prior to the time it rears itself. In other words leaders can make fate work or against themselves.

Great perspective SSG Samuel Kermon - thanks brother and I know you meant "Fate" instead of "Date" (lol)... Have a great afternoona and weekend...

“As I mention in my quote today, success and failure aren’t a result of chance or fate when it comes to leadership. It really comes down to the leader, the focus, the vision, and their leadership style. Here is another quote for today’s message on fate: ‘Fate whispered to the warrior, ‘You cannot withstand the storm.’ And the warriors whispered back, ‘I am the storm.’ ” — Unknown Author. Love that quote. May you be in charge of your own fate through actions; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Be ready to challenge fate instead just accepting it.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
