I live in the Province of Alberta, Canada. Luckily, I do not have a job in the oil sector.
There goes American First! It is cater to the ECO-Left and Illegal Aliens First since they are your biggest means of recruiting a Democrat Cohort in 2024 and 2028.
You would think that POTUS Biden would put this on his to-do list in the future but not in the first 17 Executive Orders?
The USA's 3rd largest trading partner, Canada, will lose Hundreds of Billions of Dollars over the 2020s due to this. Appeasing the Eco-Communist Left and Illegal Aliens are on the top of the list.
Canada also has a love-hate relationship with oil. The Outer Provinces hate it but, since the 1950s, my Province of Alberta is forced to share most of the profits to broke ass/mismanaged provinces that resemble California, New York and Illinois that hate the oil but live off the revenue. The insanity is on both sides of the border.
In Military Terms, POTUS Biden Blue-Falconed Canada. Trump wanted it built. Former POTUS Obama also Blue Falconed Trudeau on the same project. Prior to the Pandemic, Alberta had 7% unemployment due to the pipeline being stalled and low oil prices. Now we are really screwed! EDMONTON — Keystone XL was shaping up to be among the cleanest pipeline projects ever built. Calgary’s TC Energy was planning to spend $1.7 billion to power pump stations along the 1,900 kilometre line extension entirely with renewables like solar and wind, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday night.
The project promised to provide thousands of high-paying jobs and included deals with several American unions, and TC Energy had partnered with five First Nations that had taken equity in the pipeline. It is exactly the kind of project that any sane politician would be excited for in these recessionary times.
