Born October 11, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas, Andrew Woolfolk became seriously interested in music at the age of 13. He attended Denver's East High School, with other future Earth, Wind and Fire members, Larry Dunn and Philip Bailey. Andrew performed with a gospel choir called, "The Echoes of Youth", where the actress Pam Grier also played the organ.
Andrew continued to study his craft (soprano and tenor saxophone, flute, and percussion) throughout high school and into college. In 1973, Andrew garnered his position, as saxophone for the legendary group called, "Earth, Wind and Fire". For twenty years he performed, and received numerous awards.
Andrew has performed with the notable likes of Valerie Carter, Deniece Williams, Lenny White, Level 42, Al McKay and the L.A. All-Stars, and Phil Collins.
Andrew likes to spend his leisure time playing tennis, where he has won several matches in tournament play. He also enjoys photography!
