Thank you for letting us know Maj Marty Hogan that November 14 is the anniversary of the birth of First Lady of the United States who was the wife of United States President Dwight D. Eisenhower who is Mamie Geneva Doud Eisenhower.
She was known for her incredible hospitality. What a great tribute.
Rest in peace Mamie Geneva Doud Eisenhower!
Here is a historical video focused on Mamie Eisenhower: Incredibly Hospitable First Lady:

In the President's vehicle, a convertable was both President Eisenhower and also Mamie Eisenhower. At that point My Dad was in the US Navy and stationed at Pearl Harbor Navel Station.

She received a painful shaft when her husband Ike went off to war in 1942 until he came home in 1945. He was a part from him for those painful war years but she became part of an unofficial club of the generals' wives club. General Eisenhower was continually paired with his chauffer Kay Summersby, a young English woman later inducted into the WACs as a 1st Lt. The gossip sheets picked up on them and tried to pair them as a couple. Despite some "revelations" from various authors after the war, no definitive source places them together in a relationship.
