"Art" encompasses a wide variety of genres and styles [pottery, sculpture, painting, photography, body-art, drawing, and film and music can all be considered art. I prefer surrealism to abstract. Since I was 4 years old when the 1960's began that probably makes sense
If we all liked the same "art" life would be very boring. There have several professional artists in my mothers side of the family - from painting through sculpture though metal work. My uncle painted in impressionist style which was not my favorite but much better than abstract. Although I did like much of Salvador Dali's work. I was amused by Andy Warhol's art - Tomato soup can for instance.
I prefer more classical art forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, music and photography.
Here are a few images: Salvador Dali Soft Construction with Boiled Beans (Premonition of Civil War), 1936; Andy Warhol Soup Cans; Salvador Dali swans reflecting elephants elephants; Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comic book cover
