Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. It's MLK day which is dedicated to service Any plans?
Thinking independently, something that MLK did and we see a lot less of right now which is part of the reason we sit in two divided camps. The goal is to be the independent thinker; the one who comes up with new solutions that can be embraced by both sides.
I've worked with families who thought that there was no way to find common ground. I asked them to take each other's position on the topic they were arguing about and they found a solution that neither side had even considered before. We can find solutions what work but we have to put aside groupthink to get there.

I pray that most private and many school districts are focused on teaching students how to approach problems & questions and develop solutions & answers on their own. Hopefully parents whose children are at home are teaching their children how to reason well. I pray that logic and reasoning are being taught to young children and they are able to understand and apply what they learned. ‘Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.’ [Philippians 4:8-9 ESV]

I thank YOU LORD for the blessing of eternal salvation. I pray that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters are grateful to YOU for justifying each of us and having a personal relationship with us. You healed each of us from the judgement for sin. ‘Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.’ [Isaiah 1:18-19 ESV]
I pray LORD that YOU empower each one of us to search the scriptures as YOU Holy Spirit store the WORD in our soul. ‘Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true.’ [Acts 17:11ESV]
I pray LORD that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer realizes that YOU need to be first in our lives. After all YOU loved us first. YOU are rightfully a jealous God, jealous for us not against us. ‘'Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. I lift parents, teachers and administrators of schools to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless each with wisdom and enable them to understand reasoning, mathematics and logic. I pray that parents help their children to think rationally and apply logic to develop answers and solutions based on sound reasoning. ‘Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.’ [Proverbs 7:8 ESV]
I pray that most private and many school districts are focused on teaching students how to approach problems & questions and develop solutions & answers on their own. Hopefully parents whose children are at home are teaching their children how to reason well. I pray that logic and reasoning are being taught to young children and they are able to understand and apply what they learned. ‘Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.’ [Philippians 4:8-9 ESV]
