Good morning Col Burroughs. Great quote of the day. "Reach Out Day" what can I do to make a difference in someone's life today? Simple, call someone, send a text, email, or visit them. Just a simple kind word can make all difference in the world. I see it every day on Rally Point. I read and watch it through your encouraging post. Soldiers looking after soldiers. Remember, there's no dishonor in reaching out for help. All of us at some point needed advice, assistance or someone to talk too. It only takes a second to reach out for guidance or to give guidance. Be safe Rally Point. Have a great day.

I pray that you and I reach out to those around us who are in need of a listening ear, a friendly handshake or hug, or somebody to simply spend time with, my friend and brother-in-Christ SPC Jon O..
LORD God, YOU designed us to desire fellowship with other humans and especially with YOU. YOU revealed that the way to demonstrate out love for YOU is by how we treat others from those we love to our enemies.
I pray that YOU motivate each of us to reach out specifically to somebody who needs the warmth of shared experience from the simple to the sublime. Open our eyes to the poverty of relationship around us. Expand our horizons to include those who feel rejected by others. For the spiritually mature I pray YOU lead us to pray for specific human enemies
I pray that parents of toddlers are learning to listen to and appreciate the attempts of the young to imperfectly reach out and be helpful. Help them to encourage the intent of the vey young to be helpful and give parents patience and skills to accept the offered help by the toddlers. Empower the parents to help the children to improve on their efforts in winsome ways.
I pray that parents of tweens and teenagers remember from the time they were teenagers and wanted to tell their own parents how to improve relationship and trust. Give the parents patience, listening skills and common interests with their offspring including music, art, literature including comics, and Manga graphic novels.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well tonight.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning my RP Family. Reaching out can be difficult for us at times. We may feel awkward or not qualified to help someone. Or we may feel like it is none of our business and not want to intrude on someone’s privacy. We need to remember that many times, those that seem withdrawn don’t know how to reach out for help so we must reach out to see if there something we can do. I have found something that deals with teenage folks but the principle behind the discussion is the same for all and I find to be very useful. I hope you find it useful to you for reaching out to someone you feel may need help. Have a blessed day today and always.

HOW TO ASK A FRIEND IF THEY'RE OK

When you're worred about someone, sometimes the best thing you can do is listen and let them know you're there for them.

> Having the chat
Pick the right place - somewhere quiet and away from other people.
Try to remove any distractions before you start.
Don't push it - if they say they don't want to talk, let them know you're there if they change their mind.

> Starting the conversation
'Hey, how have you been lately? What's been happening?'
'You haven't seemed yourself lately. Is there something you'd like to talk about?'
'How are you doing? Anything you want to chat about?'

> How to respond
Be a good listener by paying attention, asking questions and checking you've understood what they've said.
Don't try to solve the problem for them.
Ask them why they may be feeling that way.
Let them know you're there for them.
Don't judge what they say, even if you don't agree with them.

> If they say they're not OK
Ask them what's going on for them, listen and acknowledge their feelings.
Ask what they think will help them to feel better.
If you feel like they need more support you could ask if they're considered talking to an adult they trust or seeing a mental health professional.
If you're worried abotu their safety, let someone know.

Thanks brother Gene I practice trying to see if I know a friend in need and I would always wait until I could talk to him or her alone to keep from embarrassing them. I was taught that was common courtesy thanks for the post my friend

The truth is that life is hard and we can tell ourselves that everything's okay but sometimes it's not.
And then a friend comes along and gently reminds us that this will not always be this way and that better days are to come.
Rallypoint daily post are a positive reminder of this every day.
