For close quarters engagements, my church security team leader is training team members that double-tap or 2 to body then 1 to head is no longer as acceptable and should be replaced by delivering 1 center mass round to each attacker which will at least not allow another attacker to have extra time to tag you. The one round will delay or give pause to EACH target, THEN you start delivering the follow-up 2nd rounds... "rinse - repeat" until clear.
