Having driven and ridden in these for many, many miles... here's my take. It was great for what it was originally designed for-and inefficient for what it was ultimately used for. That being said, there may be inefficiencies built in to the tactics, as much as the equipment. What's the better bargain, mobility at the expense of protection...protection at the expense of mobility... or both at the expense of, well, more expense?
