Thanks for reminding us that after the sinking of the Lusitania got involved the USA in the global conflagration which was known as the Great War SGT John " Mac " McConnell
President Thomas Woodrow like previous Presidents was focused on our own interests which were perceived to limited to North, South and Central America.
By the time we got involved many millions of soldiers and civilians had been killed in Europe, Africa, and Asia. Thankfully the colored uniforms had given way to drab uniforms.
Poison gas, water-cooled machine guns, trench warfare, accurate and long-range artillery, the introduction of armored vehicles and aircraft all presented challenges and opportunities.
Doulas MacArthur, George Patton, John Marshall not to mention Erwin Rommel and corporal Adolph Hitler all demonstrated fighting talent in the Great War.
