Good “Thursday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from a beautiful day here in SW Florida!!!

It is “Doing the Right Things Day!” and I do hope we are all doing the right things today & every day.

"The time is always right to do what is right." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Better to fail at doing the right thing than to succeed at doing the wrong thing." - Guy Kawasaki

"Doing the right things for the right reason in the right way is the key to Quality of Life!" - Stephen Covey

"Doing the right thing isn't always easy - in fact, sometimes it's real hard - but just remember that doing the right thing is always right." - David Cottrell

"Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity." - W. Clement Stone

"Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment." - Benjamin Franklin

As we move through the facets of life, keep in mind that...

“Leadership is doing the right things. Thinking and planning strategically, setting organizational priorities, allocating the right personnel and fiscal resources, and leading to fulfill the organization’s visions!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that your conscience has guided you to do what is right since you were young. No doubt as you matured you have learned to say what is right without offense intended. I hope that you and I listen well before speaking and that we speak respectfully to everybody we interact with. ‘From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.’ [James 2:10-11, 13 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see).

LORD I pray for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters this evening who is struggling to make wise decisions for health and welfare of those who depend on us. I pray that we submit our desires, plans, hope and dreams to YOU. Renew the mind of each of us by the washing of YOUR word. ‘If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind’ [James I:5-6 ESV]
I pray that YOU guide good Samaritans to come to the aid of those recently terminated from employment and those evicted from the small business or home based on foolish decisions by those in power. I pray for the widows, widowers and orphans as Easter approaches. I pray that YOU guide trustworthy individuals to assist those in need who have great listening skills and a large amount of patience to sit with the lonely. 'If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.' [James 1:26-27 ESV]
I pray for an increase of compassion and love for families and friends divided over political viewpoints and policy support differences. LORD I pray that YOU prompt the mature to take first steps in reconciliation. Guide them to work towards restoration of fellowship. 'What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.' [James 2:14-17 ESV]
I lift the honest and trustworthy governmental leaders and judges in the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Ireland, Poland, Germany, France, Egypt, Israel, India, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, and Australia who are doing their best to do what is right, to YOU, dear LORD. I pray that YOU guide the mind of each and their hands as they develop policy and make rulings. No doubt they seek wisdom. I pray that YOU bless each with wisdom to do what is right, compromise on non-essentials and stay true to their impeccable character foundations. ‘For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God.’ [1 Peter 2:15-17 ESV]
I lift the corrupt governmental leaders and judges in the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Ireland, Poland, Germany, France, Egypt, Israel, India, China, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, New Zealand, and Australia who are biased, susceptible to bribes and contemptuous of those who are selfless advocates for the downtrodden and the faithful. YOU know which are deluded to place their faith in the institutions they have solidified which are founded on sand. Their works are focused on bringing themselves glory. ‘It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one’s own glory. A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.’ [Proverbs 25:256-27 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Thursday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Friday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ

Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. The sun is shining!
Running around this morning trying to get about a half dozen things organized so late to the game but here are some comments on topic.
It is more important to do the right thing than to worry about who gets the credit for it or how popular it will be. This is directly related to integrity and leadership and sometimes means taking an unpopular position or speaking out even when you know it will cost you personally.

LTC Stephen F. truth is I'm pretty blunt. I try to consider if what I'm about to say will be helpful or necessary but if I have something to say I'm not always diplomatic. I believe it is better to be honest and try to be correct, not necessarily win the argument, but be truthful in what I say. I try not to ride roughshod over others' feelings but I'm not on this earth to manage other's feelings. It has earned me the respect of my commanders and my joes. I have had joes who just didn't like me but were loyal because I was always mission 1st welfare of my joes 2nd, was honest, and I looked after my own needs last.
