Why No One Wants to Fight the A-10 Warthog

Earlier I shared a Military News video regarding the A10 Warthog 's new wings, avionics and more... (I couldn't resist posting it!) This video HIGHLIGHTS the A10's the POWERFUL capabilities of the Warthog and SHOULD BE WATCHED FULL SCREEN... Pay particular attention beginning at the 5-mins - 30-sec mark, where an A10 takes out a Taliban Vehicle in no time flat!!! Take a look at the end result damage! (P.S. I know it was a Taliban vehicle as I watched a specific video of it taking place and it was described.)

Great video but no surprises. One has to remember that the A-10 -was designed and fielded to be a Soviet tank killer, taking out all other types of vehicles is a piece of cake. The CAS mission this aircraft now has came along after the fall of the Soviet Union and the generals realized with no tanks to take out it fit perfectly into a CAS role.

PO3 Bob McCord Yup and strange that today's generals can't grasp the concept of make do with what you've got. Everything needs to be state of the art even if what you've got is best at the job.
