I am among those who were critical of the F35 program (though not the plane as envisioned). It's good to see that critical issues are being resolved. As soon as the last are completed, then, and only then, it would be wise to begin abandoning aircraft that are inferior. Of course, this doesn't include the A-10. I don't see the F35 replacing that and I haven't seen anything resembling a qualified replacement

Totally agree that the F-35 can't pick up the A-10 mission, regardless of what the Air Force says. Coming from a background with the F-111 I also understand the time it takes to resolve "critical issues". That doesn't mean there is a problem with the aircraft, it means that caution is prevailing in allowing the aircraft to do what it was designed for.

Sgt (Join to see) Probably the Best Multi-Task, Multi-Force Aircraft Invented. I'm Not Sure that I'm Thrilled with all the Compromises Necessary to Reach that Goal. Still and Outstanding Aircraft.
