After hearing about the Taylor Swift concert tickets being sold way over sticker, I was wondering if this could be a way for some people to save money on concert tickets?

My wife and I walked up 7 years ago and bought concert tickets from Madonna right from the scalper who was just outside the entrance to the indoor stadium. We didn't pay that much more than the face value because the scalper was worried about losing his investment and sold them at a reasonable price.

When I went to see the rock band Depeche mode, we had no problem buying tickets at Ticketmaster and floor seats on the 25th row we're about $160 a ticket back then. We thought that was reasonable considering where we were going to be standing or sitting.

Over the years, my wife would go with her sister to go see Metallica, Lady Gaga and other bands by just buying them from the scalper directly just before the concert started.

Are the concert tickets sold at Ticketmaster linked directly to the person so they can't resell them to scalpers? That is what some people told me on Facebook discussing the concert tickets Scandal conundrum.
