Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Mid Air Meteor and Milky Way." You might also be able to call this shot "Aircraft Picture of the Day." On a September 24th night flight between Singapore and Australia, a traveler settles into a window seat and sets up a digital camera on a tripod. Outside the window lies the expanse of the Milky Way. The camera is adjusted to take 10-second exposures. The planet Jupiter is just off the right wing tip. What happens next probably seemed magical.

Good Thursday Morning to you Maj William W. 'Bill' Price! This is a phenomenal one of a kind photographic event that every photographer working on capturing space objects, like the Milky Way, would love to see occur each time a photo was taken... LOL! I was not able to find any videos on this particular event, but did find one with an exploding meteor, which your followers will love.
