It wasn't surprising that both the People’s Republic of China and the Soviet Union recognized the fledgling communist Democratic Republic of Vietnam SP5 Mark Kuzinski.
The People’s Republic of China and the Soviet Union were fierce competitors at times but they both stood as examples of true communism for several generations.
Even thou the USSR fought on the side of the allies after Hitler violated the non-aggression pact in 1941. During WWII, the Communist Chinese fought against the Nationalist Chinese and the Japanese.
However even as the conflict in Korea was five months away [June 25, 1950 – July 27, 1953]. the communist nations were supporting Vietnam breaking away from the French Indochina colony.
