Thank you, my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for posting the documentary video focused on the Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI bomber which had crew of 10 and range of 500 miles [800 km]
1. The earlier Gotha GIV bomber [crew of 3] had been bombing England with marginal success
2. The Germans had developed these massive bombers after the dirigible became vulnerable to ant-aircraft.
3. The Germans pioneered bomber crews with side machine gunners among other things forerunner of bombers in WWII
4. The success of the Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI bomber in attacking England and London specifically, caused Great Britain to pull back a significant number of squadrons for home defense. However that paved the way for the homeland defense network which mobilized during the battle of Britain in 1940 with great success.
