They should remove the nuclear fuel and safe the reactor spaces, weld the doors shut, and make the whole thing into a museum on static display somewhere. I would pay to go take a tour. I went to see the USS Alabama where it is and this would be even more interesting.

Thanks for sharing the news that the US Navy Sea Systems Command announced today that they’re canceling a request for proposal to perform a commercial recycling of the non-nuclear elements of the USS Enterprise, CVN 65 SP5 Mark Kuzinski
This is interesting news that the "Navy has identified that it requires more information to determine the approach for the disposal of CVN 65, including the reactor plans, that is more technically executable, environmentally responsible and is an effective utilization of Navy resources.”
I am hopeful that the Navy leadership will be wise as they determine the disposition of the USS Enterprise and other decommissioned warships for that matter.
