Thanks SP5 Mark Kuzinski for reminding us that in early October, 1963 Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge reported to President John F. Kennedy from Saigon that South Vietnamese generals were planning a coup against President Ngo Dinh Diem.
Of course former POTUS JFK abandoned President Ngo Dinh Diem to the coup plotters led by General Duong Van Minh.
One day we may learn whether or not the JFK administration supported the execution of Ngo Dinh Diem and his brother Ngo Dinh Nhu after they surrendered to representatives from the rebel generals. They were later found murdered in the back of an M-113 armored personnel carrier.
FYI COL Mikel J. Burroughs LTC Stephen C. Capt Seid Waddell Capt Tom Brown SFC William Farrell SSgt Robert Marx PO1 William "Chip" Nagel SPC Margaret Higgins MSgt Jason McClish AN Christopher Crayne LTC Bill Koski SPC Tom DeSmet SGT Charles H. Hawes LTC Wayne Brandon SGT (Join to see) SGT Michael Thorin
