Most likely you sought the guidance of our LORD before deliberately walking away. In this age of SARS and related viruses, some seem to think that they are the font of wisdom. Those who desire to be lord over all decisions, protocols, and behaviors had best look in the mirror and seek help in getting the plank out of their own eye before attempting to take a speck out of somebody else’s. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? I pray for sound judgment, discernment, respect for each person, compassion and humility for each and every one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. In this season where evil seems to be encroaching on the light and love of God, it is wise to remember that God is in complete control. HE permits evil to appear to flourish before judgement. ‘Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord. “BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.’ [Romans 12:19-21 ESV]
Brothers and sister-in-Christ I pray that you and I seek the LORD’s guidance daily in this age when evil is encroaching on many aspects of life, remember that God is in complete control. HE does not hold us liable for what happens to us. Yet HE holds us liable for our responses. 'Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the LORD is.' [Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV]
The LORD admonishes each of us to be careful in judgement
a. “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure, you use it will be measured back to you.” [Luke 6:37-38 ESV]
