Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. Have a safe ride and Tom and I will welcome you to Northern Virginia later today.
Assertive is what you have to be to maintain your well being. Assertive, not aggressive. Those are two very different things. Assertive is what helps you advocate for yourself, your freedom, your well being and that of those you are involved with. Assertive is standing up for yourself when challenged. Too many people are compliant with things or positions they don't believe in just to "get along" That's very dangerous for us and the freedoms we believe in.

I expect you demonstrate respect to each person you interact with and that you are grateful for service by individuals who help you as part of their employment. No doubt your professionalism and listening skills is worthy of emulation. I hope and pray that you and I are focused primarily on serving others even and especially while we assert ourselves. “In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death.’ [Proverbs 14:26-27 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown .

I lift each adopted son and daughter of God who reads or listens to this prayer to YOU LORD. I am thankful that each of us are rooted in the rock-solid foundation of the atonement of the LORD, justified at salvation, and sanctified by YOU Holy Spirit as YOU dwell with the soul of each of us. I pray for humility, sufficient fruit of YOU Holy Spirit self-control and faithfulness for each of us as we stand up for the weakest among us including preborn children, abused individuals, and outcasts of society. ‘And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.’ [Galatians 6:9-10 ESV]
I pray for a peaceful night free from nightmares and troubles for each widow, widower, and child of deployed servicemember parent(s). I pray for a sound mind, discernment, and alertness for each deployed service member, on-duty police, federal and state agents, and EMT personnel. ‘And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.’ [Colossians 3:15-17 ESV]
Remember the admonition of the LORD, do your best to be above reproach, sober-minded and self-controlled. HE reminds us in 1 Timothy 3:3 avoid being “a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.’ 'The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore, an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.' [1 Timothy 3:1-3 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Wednesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Thursday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

We can write all we want but nothing can ever take the place of human interface. Great to see members of RP meeting in person to prevent any of us from getting a message that says:
"TAKE THIS QUIZ TO PROVE YOU ARE NOT A ROBOT".
Great pic guys and super to see members getting together for a good time and apparently some good food. Thanks for the share.

Good “Wednesday & Hump Day!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the high wispy clouds of Greater Boston... We are in for a warm, but beautiful day in New England...

Today’s Message is: “Assertive Day!” Why Not?

"The man of genius inspires us with a boundless confidence in our own powers." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The basic difference between being assertive and being aggressive is how our words and behavior affect the rights and well being of others." - Sharon Anthony Bower

"Once you have a major success with assertiveness, you learn that it's a much healthier path than being a doormat to the insensitive folks. You gain respect for yourself, have more time for your priorities, and develop authentic and healthier relationships." - Doreen Virtue

"Every time we speak, we choose and use one of four basic communication styles: assertive, aggressive, passive and passive-aggressive." - Jim Rohn

"If you overcome your fear to ask someone for a date, a raise, or help with a project, that is an act of self-assertiveness. You are moving out into life rather than contracting and withdrawing." - Nathaniel Branden

Remember my Brothers and Sisters...

“If you want to get things or something accomplished you have to be assertive, but always be professional, courteous, and respectful as you assert yourself and others — there is a right way and a wrong way!" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
