I agree Maj Robert Thornton. If we can't find happiness within ourselves, we will not find happiness from others.

That’s s’thing I can agree with Major R. Thornton on.. Here’s a sitrep that happened where I was employed at one time... We had a Senior Chef that gave a couple new fellas cook trainees.. an assignment to do . He told some of us other Chefs to NOT help them in any way.. So we did just that.. I really wanted to.. part of a Chef’s job is to mentor. Yet at same time to follow directions of more Senior Chefs.. I had a few times did something that was a better way.. yet they said I was wrong still for not following directions... even if they were screwed up. So I thought another idea.. explain that later..
So the Senior Chef returns to their work area and sees their catastrophe .. Chef’s not a happy camper.. And he starts to get all in their sitrep.. I says to myself; “This is where I need to interrupt”... “Chef my friend these are new people and a little more understanding and mentoring on your part Chef is needed.. My job is to mentor also. But you said let them do it.. so I did . Just to make sure.. in your behalf you could of explain the ritual you wanted them to follow to complete the task Sir. (I had sent the two young lads to the break area for a bit (remembering the axiom ‘to scold in private...’. No need to embarrass the boss in front of the lads..( I hoped he remembers that I did it to save face on his part.. ).. I sent another Jr. Chef to retrieve the lads.. They came back and Chef proceeded to show them using the method I would have shown them (I turned the 3 steps into 4.. I added a drip pan with a screen after the egg/milk wash pan to catch the drainage. That way I could drain quite a few pieces after egg wash .. then lay in the crumbs for final procedure. M.. this eill prevent clotting of the crumbs and slowing down the final step because the worker would have to stop to get all the clumps out and then go back to work. Finishing up the crumbing procedure.. Too many are concerned they gave the potwasher another pan yo clean.. oh dear... can’t have that.(pot washer makes one of the lower wages next to out-
Door guy.. ). A prep worker is usually a mid line cook.. these guys hadn’t even started working the line as line-backers yet.. they’d be stuck for a while as a prepper-linebacker-line cook. Rotating around where needed.. those that show initiative
and patience Will get moved up.. I did it the hard way too.. I remembered how I was treated by some.. including those in the same status as I was.. sit-reps came along when those guys were not on schedule and it was slow business day and a Senior Chef showed me and properly guided me to do a prepping procedure .. I remembered that kindness and payed it foreward to those I would mentor. .. I was fortunate when apprenticed to my Gr. Aunt.. she was a hard taskmaster and kind too.. there’s a time and place to temper both .. at the point in time earlier the Senior Chef. Fidn’t fo that.. I don't know what made him be ‘short-fused’ with them lads.. That’s why we need to stop and take some deep breaths and let out slowly then proceed.. it saves problems later. .. And people are more happy because of it. I think that ties in with your meme and what LT COL Charlie Brown says
About finding ‘it’ within ourselves, Sir.. May much happiness come to those that can mentor those they assign work to even though they ‘may’ have done it before (maybe just in a different way than their way. That way they showed them will produce the results they look toward and be happy because of it.

I pray that each of your deepest desires are fulfilled, my friend and brother-in-Christ Maj Robert Thornton.
Heavenly Father, YOU are the fulfiller of dreams. YOU birth desires in each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters and YOU cleanse us of desires that are not for the best.
I pray that YOU boost out expectations. Open the eyes of the saints and their ears and give us hearts sensitive to YOU. Use us to help fulfill dreams and expectations.
I pray that YOU give hope to those devoid of hope, joy to the grieving, peace to those in turmoil and rest and improved health to those afflicted this season.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs I am hoping to get my outside stuff done before the weather turns nasty.
Expectations are interesting things. When we have them for ourselves they can help us achieve a higher level of accomplishment than we thought we could. If you really wish to use expectations to motivate your performance, write them down and use them as a goal for your plan. When we have expectations for others, we are often disappointed as we cannot predict how they will respond. What is even more difficult is that many of us use "unspoken expectations" to judge others. This is absolutely a useless, frustrating thing to do. So, in light of that, what are your expectations and are they realistic? If not, what can you do to align them so they are helpful and motivational?

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Love the quote and the direction you took expectations this morning Charlie! All great thoughts and some very important advice when it comes to aligning your expectations for yourself and those of others. They can be a double edge sword. You and Tom have a great day and get all that outdoor stuff accomplished before the storm hits. I've been snow blowing for several days in a row here in Colorado. Getting a break now! Have a great day Charlie!
