Great song, SP5 Mark Kuzinski! Jim Morrison died in Paris, France on July 3, 1971 at the age of 27. He is buried in Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.

Have you ever seen the movie: The Doors staring Val Kilmer? It is an excellent explanation of the group’s history! Excellent movie! His girlfriend Pam died shortly after him and is also buried in Paris. Loved the group and their music was ground-breaking. Another talented artist who died too early, he was only 27!

I haven’t seen the movie, SPC Nancy Greene. I’ll have to give it a try! Here’s a little more about the them and their death.
“Pamela Courson stated that on July 3, 1971, she awoke to find Morrison dead in the bathtub of their apartment in Paris. The coroner's report listed his cause of death as heart failure, although no autopsy was performed. Under Morrison's will, which stated that he was ‘an unmarried person’, Courson was named his heir, and therefore in line to inherit his entire fortune. Lawsuits against the estate would tie up her quest for inheritance for the next two years.”
“On April 25, 1974, Pamela Courson died of a heroin overdose on the living room couch at the Los Angeles apartment she shared with two male friends. Her cremated remains were interred in the mausoleum at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, California. The plaque reads ‘Pamela Susan Morrison 1946–1974’, despite the fact that ‘Morrison’ was never part of Courson's legal name. Several months after her death, her parents inherited her fortune. Jim Morrison's parents later contested the Coursons' executorship of the estate, leading to additional legal battles. In 1979 both parties agreed to divide the earnings from Morrison's estate equally.”

Excellent information. In the movie he dies in Paris in a bathtub from a heart attack and the he movie ends there. The beginning of the movie vie starts with him as a young boy traveling to CA with his family. He states during interviews that his father is dead. In reality his father was an Officer, not sure which branch of the Military. He was a student at UCLA when he met his band mates and then met Pam. It is fairly realistic and he was not married to Pam, but they were a couple in spite of his infidelity. In the movie he gathers a child from an encounter with a female photographer/writer. It is a very powerful movie! Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for the info on Pam. That was news to me! NancyLTC Stephen C.
