Is everything in the $1.9 Trillion "COVID Relief" Bill absolutely justifyable or is some the 'pork' spoilled that should be thrown out?
The attached 'simple' graphic when applied to the 'repayment plan' to fund this 'relief' package has interesting implications. After reading comments from several sources is was interesting to determine the kinds of things and amounts allocated the package was to address:

Would it not be simpler to simply increase the standard deduction for single or joint income households to $36,000 (graduated) who make < $ 175,000 in unadjusted gross income for the next 36 months and increase the tax rate by 2% on all earners? Here is a table that summarizes the idea.
Hopefully, they would have much more of stimulus to the economy over a more sustained period. It would be bold and be much more helpful to low-income and lower middle-class families that a mere $600, $1,200, or higher check per child under 17 or below years old.
In closing, there are many problems with the tax system and frankly it should be locked down in such a way as to keep Congress from using it as a 'bottomless' cash pit. Expenditures of taxes should have a real purpose with JUSTIFICATION that does NOT allow for 'bad-pork', you know those '...bridges to nowhere...' so political friends can buy the 2nd vacation home for cash while turning a blind eye to the single parent that needs a 1st home, so the negative aspects of the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) are not the weapons used that crush the spirit.
While it might be argued there is 'good-pork', politicians and their 'blood suckers' feeding at the trough of the pockets of the American taxpayer needs to be curbed. The real 'social injustice' is when the inability of ANY American, regardless of who they are, to "...secure the blessings of Liberty for 'themselves' and 'their' posterity..." is impeded by rules and regulations that attempt to pit people by anything that can be used to create a disruption in their ability to "...promote the general welfare..." the capacity to "...provide for the common defense..." the ability to "...insure domestic tranquility..." and need to assure the capacity to "...establish justice..." will, when properly and fairly executed at all levels of government, are the bedrock for creating the illusive "...more perfect union...".

There is NO TIME like the present to think about NOV 2022 and the mid-terms. The questions that will need to be asked in Sep - Oct 2022 are these:
- Have taxes gone up thus reducing take-home pay on the average American?
- Has the average American been able to attain home ownership?
- Does the average American have the needed skills for emerging markets?
- Does the average American work a good job, with good pay without have to work 2 or 3 jobs to make do?
- Is the average American able to save $6,000 a year between the ages of 24 and 54 yo so they can invest?
- Will older Americans > 55 be able to have a decent quality of life?
Despite the political rhetoric, if we cannot get HONEST answers to these and other questions the arguments forwarded during the 2022 mid-terms will mean NOTHING if each American, regardless of who they are, does NOT feel they are getting a straight answer. Only an INDEPENDENTLY THINKING well-informed populous is able to pull back the curtain on hidden agendas of those who only care for themselves vs the whole of the American people.

Thank you my friend CPO Nate S. for posting a high level summary of the impact of the $1.9 Trillion "COVID Relief" Bill.
Hopefully the US Senate will strip out the $15 minimum wage rate hike language and other pork during the conference committee meetings :-)
Biden’s $1.9 Trillion Stimulus Plan Enters 3-Week Dash in Congress
Democrats begin the final push for President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion stimulus bill this week, dropping any pretense of bipartisanship to quickly pass the package before an earlier round of benefits runs out.
This will be the first real test for Democrats’ full control of government since former President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, with implications for the rest of Biden’s agenda and the pandemic-battered economy. The House plans to vote as soon as Friday on Democrats’ stimulus package, setting up a Senate vote as soon as next week.
Resolving the final hurdles, especially disagreement among Senate Democrats about a provision phasing in a $15-per-hour federal minimum wage, would clear the way for Biden to give his first address to a joint session of Congress in March outlining his next policy goals, including a multitrillion-dollar infrastructure bill.
“The Senate is on track to send a robust $1.9 trillion package to the president’s desk before the March 14 expiration of unemployment insurance benefits” from the last round of stimulus, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said in a Friday letter to colleagues. “We will meet this deadline.”
In public, the focus will be on the House this week with a Budget Committee vote Monday and a floor vote on the bill as soon as Friday. The content of the 591-page bill is mostly locked in -- the Budget Committee isn’t even allowed to make substantive changes when it meets at 1 p.m. -- and there’s no sign of a rebellion by the few remaining Democratic deficit hawks imperiling the bill on the floor."

Huge amount of pork in that bill. And much of what has already been passed hasn't been spent.

Why most are against this- not heartless, but COVID relief should be centric to COVID relief. OUR people- OUR small businesses, and it is about time the big stores carry some load here.
